Our Roots

In 1958 and 1965, two families, worlds apart, started their individual construction companies. In 1999 a son of each family joined forces, merged ethos and skill, and the Accolade brand was birthed.

Their ethos for “Quality above all else”, and, “Integrity above Profit” soon gave the Company a solid word of mouth reputation that was not an industry norm, and a substantial reason for the success the Group has achieved.

This "ethos" became a company culture, which attracted like-minded staff,  making it a special work environment, which led  to  being  selected to feature  in the 2006 ''Best Companies to work for'' publication.

In turn this   culture and work ethic, along with a very buoyant phase in the Gauteng property cycle, allowed the group to grow from just a single property Development Company,   and a Construction company, into a Group of 7 companies, which included 3 semi – independent Development companies, and a then formidable construction company, which at one stage was a top 10 PPC Cement user in Gauteng, and an NHBRC  ''Builder of the Year'' runner-up.

2008 brought a change and re-structuring of the Group for a variety of reasons, which lead to shareholding changes, independence, and a shift in market focus outside of South Africa’s borders, leaving the companies below within the Group.

Accolade Properties Namibia   - APN was formed in 2007 as a subsidiary company to the Group.  However, today it is an independent 100 percent  Namibian owned company.  The company embarked on a substantial development on 408 hectare of land immediately adjacent Windhoek’s International airport, Hosea Kutako. This project, ''Sungate'', is in a very strategic position, and has mixed use rights which Development thereof will unfold over the next 10 plus years.

We are a passionate and proud group of people, who have a solid track record and numerous “Accolades” to prove our pedigree.
